What we store, for how long, and what we will not claim.
What we promise
Your name is never shown. There is no account, no username, no profile, and no way for another reader to see what else you have posted. The display name on your post is generated for that discussion and is not linked to anything else you write.
What we will not promise
We will not tell you that posting here is untraceable, because that would not be true of any website. Running a service that resists spam, bots and abuse requires keeping some security information for a short period, and we comply with valid legal process.
If you are considering posting something where being identified would seriously harm you, think carefully about what details you include. Specific dates, roles and incidents can identify a person even when no name appears.
What we actually store
The text you wrote and the display name you chose. That is what appears publicly.
We do not store your IP address. We combine it with your browser details and a secret that rotates, run it through a one-way hash, and keep only the result for 30 days. It lets us rate-limit a spammer. It cannot be turned back into an IP address, and once the secret rotates, old hashes can no longer be linked to new ones.
We store a hash of it, not the token. That means you can delete your own post, and we cannot recover the token for you. If you lose it, we cannot prove the post was yours — which is the same property that stops anyone else from claiming it.
Optional. Encrypted, stored in a separate table from your post so the two are not sitting in one row, deleted after 180 days, and never displayed.
Location data and other metadata are stripped and the file is re-encoded on our server before it is published. A photo taken on a phone normally carries the exact coordinates where it was taken; we remove that.
If a post is about you
You do not need an account or a lawyer to ask us to look at something. Request a removal and tell us what is wrong. Posts containing private identifying information come down. Posts making a serious accusation as fact get reviewed against our rules.
